For those of you lucky enough to be joining us at the Get In Line Christmas party here is a little more information for you.
Sunday 8th December 2024
Lansdowne Hall
Derry Hill
SN11 9QY
(on the 55 bus route)
Doors Open 2:30pm.
We’re kicking off the party with a workshop from the fantastic Gary ‘Lucky Lips’ Lafferty who is making a special journey from Scotland just for you guys.
He has some fantastic new dances for you to learn alongside social dancing. Once you’re exhausted from an afternoon of dance, we’ll take a break at approximately 5:30pm.
You’re welcome to stay in the hall and we’ll setup the side room so you can eat and drink to your hearts content.
There will be free tea and coffee available but no food available in the hall. The closest shop is a spar shop located approximately 6 minutes walk away. There is a pub approximately 8 minutes walk away from the hall that sells hot and cold food.
After you’re all suitably rested we’ll kick off the evening at approximately 7pm with DJ’ing from multi, multi, multi award winning DJ Gary Lafferty, with a suitable mix of original and Christmas music. We did originally have the UKLDA performing artist of the Year, Sammi Lee Bassey performing for us in the evening, however due to a recent illness she will be unable to join us. We wish Sammi a speedy recovery and we will be getting her back to entertain you all as soon as we possibly can.
We’ll be dancing all the dances you already know, and for those who have taken part in the Improver sessions you’ll have a chance to show what you’ve learned.
We’ll also manage to find time to cram in the raffle (no prizes required, all supplied by Get In Line) so bring some change with you for raffle tickets. We’ll also have the Dorothy House donations jar with us to squeeze a few more pounds out of you before the end of the year.
There might even be a few games and silliness thrown in, and perhaps even a couple of spot prizes.
We’ll wrap things up at 10pm (a thoroughly sensible time to finish) and hopefully see you for the final classes of the year (apart from Malmesbury) the following week!
